We have the right to believe. We have to rely on our beliefs to guide our actions. Our actions and decisions make our belief in an idea come true. The process of acting upon a belief must continually be justified by its usefulness in increasing our understanding or predicting results. Act as if what you do makes a difference.
“We sponsor the teams…get the churches out there to sell food, and get the fathers and uncles to be security…and bring the community spirit back.
We’ll try to get a community centre in every ghetto in the country that has the same things as they have in the beverly hills community centre. They have a pool table, a VCR, a library. The kind of library you have at Yale. If they want the ghetto to have brains, give us the books!
This is the type of thing young black males can do. We can do anything if you just give us a shot and stop trying to beat us down. I have something to offer to business that hasn’t been shown before. I have a whole energy that represents not just black youth but white youth, Mexican youth…youth!”
Who do you believe in?
